Shropshire Legend moves to Vet60

His running career started when as a 15 year old at the John Hunt School (now
Sutherland) he won the Wrekin Area Schools 880 yards. He went on to be one of Shropshires most
successful athletes. 10 miles in 51', Telford Marathon 2'44" and first ever Sexarathon series winner. Still kicks ass down the track on Thursdays!

Claire Martin - Euro Cross International

Telford AC's Claire Martin wore her England vest with pride as she strode
through the ankle deep mud to finish 20th in the Euro Cross International
Race in Brussells last week end.

Hundreds of runners invaded the Telford Town Park and enjoyed the perfect
weather conditions to take part in the Annual Telford 10k Road Race organised by
Telford Athletic Club.

Shropshire Young Athletes Cross Country League

The fourth and final round of the Shropshire Star sponsored Shropshire Young
Athletes Cross Country League was held at a windswept Oldbury Wells School,
Bridgnorth on the undulating and demanding courses, with two athletes completing
clean sweep of four victories for the season.

Claire Martin, Telford Athletic Club's in form cross country runner has been
rewarded for a series of high quality performances this Autumn with an England
International call up. She travels with a strong England womens team to
Brussells to represent her country in the Euro Cross Series Race held in the
Belgium capital

Davies has a Cracker

Tim Davies of Mercia and Michael James of Shrewsbury produced a real cracker of
a race for the 19th Cardington Cracker Fell Race. The tough 9 mile race from Cardington near Church Stretton attracted a record
equalling 253 finishers.

Majestic Travel North Wales League held on the Treborth Playing Fields

Claire Martin continued her impressive cross country season in the second of
this season's UK Cross Challenge held at Liverpool's Sefton Park on Saturday.
The race attracted the best British runners as this event incorporated the GB
Trials for the six strong team for European Cross Country Championships to be
held in Italy on December 10th.

Greg Wilson - British Masters Champion

Telford AC's Greg Wilson is celebrating being crowned the British and Irish
Over 50 Masters Cross Country Champion. Greg from Wrockwardine Wood was
selected to represent the England Masters team in the British and Irish
Cross Country Championships held at Callendar Park, Falkirk, Scotland.

blisters home to win Skyline

Michael James(SAC) literally ran a blistering race as he won the gruelling 19
mile Stretton Skyline fell race for the second year on the trot. He
looked relaxed as he crossed the line 18 minutes in front of Simon
Wurr (Thames Hare & Hounds). Michael's winning time was 2.20.20
over 3 minutes quicker than last year. First lady home was Ruth
Pickvance (Les Croupiers) in 3.00.06.

Last race in this years Sexarathon series. Over 200 participants turned out to run in the rain.
Special mention to the Cox family. Joanna, 35, was very proud to see her mother Sonya win the over 60's and
father Roger competing for the first time in 15 years in the over 65's. Well done - see you all at the next race!

Storming Start for Vic Musgrove 5K

The fifth race in this years Sexarathon series started just as the heavens opened.
Nick Andrews (TAC) took the title in a time of 15 minutes with Phil Hinch (Tipton) a very close second in 15.01. Oliver Mott (Bristol Uni) 3rd 15.06.
Claire Martin (TAC) was first lady home - AGAIN! Aint there any girls out there willing to come and give Claire a run for her money?
