Darren Rimmer, once national cross country junior champion, will be putting his talent to the test when he auditions in front Simon Cowell for the next series of The X Factor.
Yes, our very own follically challenged racing snake that we all know, as Darren Rimmer is also the very successful Motown and soul singer Caven James.
Darren has been performing in clubs and pubs for more than 15 years and is well known for his Motown nights at Oakengates Town Hall. His love of all things Liverpudlian helped him to create his stage name from his love of The Beatles and Liverpool F.C. Also, he can often be spotted around Telford sporting one of his many 1980's Shell Suits.
Darrens running career has been on hold for 20 years due to injury. But now he's back training again and hopes
to compete on the track later this year.
Some his memorable achievements from years gone by include 800m in 1min53 and the famous hilly 10 mile Wrekin Road Race in 53 min.
You'll be able to see Darren performing live at the Lilleshall 10k on the very same day as his X Factor audition.

The X Factor audition is at Birmingham NEC on Wednesday 20th April. Caven will be singing one of his favorite songs "Aint No Sunshine" by Bill Withers.
