Michael James of Shrewsbury Athletic Club was an eye catching winner of the
20th Caradoc Classic Fell Race winning in 22.43, the 6th fastest time ever
on the course. This is even more impressive as he was out in front on his
own throughout the race eventually winning with 36 seconds to spare. The 25
year old is a recent convert to running, with football being his main sport.
His previous outings, include finishing just behind GB International Tim
Davies in the New Years Day Morning After Race from Church Stretton, wearing
basic trainers and not fell shoes. In last year record breaking Caradoc
race, he was up with Tim Davies and Inter Counties Champion, Will Levett
untill he badly twisted his ankle. Earlier this year he was an impressive
8th in the Wrekin Fell Race, in amongst an illustrious list of the
country's top runners and then the winner of the Dinas Bran Race from
Llangollen and under the guidance of coach Graham Jones, Shrewsbury AC have
unearthed a real gem.
Louise Taylor of Telford Harriers is another talented athlete to make a big
hit on the Shropshire Fell Running scene this year. She won the womens race
in 28.14, the 3rd fastest time ever, just 28 seconds behind the course

Shawbirch who is a radiographer at Telford Hospital, made her fell running
debut in the Wrekin Fell Race in March when she led home the Shropshire
team. Since then she won the Wrekin Streak and now the Caradoc race in fine
style. Not far behind her this time was the reigning Shropshire Series

the race last year and puts her 5th on the all time list.Another Shrewsbury

Price who was 4th ran 30.14,m the 9th fastest ever making this years womens

In a race that attracted the largest number of runners with 125 finishers,
Matthew Collins from MDC, a South Wales Fell Running Club made his debut in
the race and was second in the mens race in 23.19 the 10th fastest ever.
