Salopian Leap 2006
19-Feb-2006
|
The second coming. Only six leapers braved the snowy conditions to take part in the informal training yomp across the Wrekin fault.
This time the route started from Little Wenlock and to the summit of the Wrekin before heading South west via Cressage, up and over The Lawley, Caer Caradoc, Helmeth Hill, Hazler Hill and finally Ragleth Hill. A pleasant descent and into the Ragleth Arms for well earned beer and pub grub.
A total distance of 22 miles with approximately 2,300m ascent.
The 2006 leapers were Andy Smith, Lee Aston, Scott Lewis, Simon Dawes, Mark Fenn
and John Sanders. The group set off at 7:20 and arrived at the pub just before 14:00.
Support crew (collecting us from the pub) were Alison Lewis and Rachael Fenn
