Midland Masters Cross Country Championships
Birmingham Alexander Stadium

Greg Wilson and Malcolm Dawes struck double gold for Telford AC in the Midland Counties Masters Cross Country Championships held at Birmingham's Alexander Stadium on Sunday. Greg, crowned the Uk over 50's champion in Falkirk in November has now collected anothere honour as the Over 50's MIdland Champion. The Wrocwardine Wood athlete was an easy winner finishing in 28.33 with Birchfields Derek Dongay second in 30.12 and Kevin Steere of Derby third.

Malcolm Dawes from Ketley,went into the over 60's category at the end of December,was taking part in his first Masters over 60's race. He crossed the line in 32.26 with Birchfield's Greg Orme 2nd 30 seconds adrift, whilst Coventry's Bob Statham was third in 33.05.

Both athletes are now looking forward to the British Masters Cross Country Championships in March.
