Chris loves running at Sutton Park and out of a possible 23 outings in Midland or National 12-Stage Relays since his debut as a 17 year old in 1994 he has missed just two - both due to injury.
He has also run the fastest leg in four Midland Relays and three in the National - two on the short stage and one on the long.

I was chatting to a friend of mine at the 6 stage relays in October last year, a good runner but not in the superstar bracket like Chris. 
Chris' name was mentioned and he said to me, "you know, what I like about Chris is that he's an amazing runner, but whenever you talk to him he always asks how your running is going and is genuinely interested in your times and form and recent races you've done, even when they might be many minutes slower than his."
